Excerpt from Jay Stringer’s book “Desire”:
The actions and behaviors we are most proud of reflect where we have been loved the most, while the behaviors we struggle with reveal where we are still waiting for love to arrive. This is why feeling “bad” or defensive of our problematic behaviors is largely beside the point. The behaviors causing the greatest complications in our lives today are a living biography of our past—telling a story of where we come from and how we’ve learned to navigate the wasteland. When we listen to the message carried in those behaviors, we can begin moving toward a more embodied, passionate life.
